E-bike maker uses M8 6-pin connectors
A Tianjin e-bike manufacturer produces about 100,000 electric bicycles and mopeds per year. Their dashboard connects to the controller, throttle, brake cutoff, and lighting signals. Originally all connections used loose internal wiring soldered directly. With many models and configurations, harness variety caused warehouse confusion and frequent assembly-line mix-ups.
We helped standardize the dashboard interface: all models now use a unified M8 6-pin connector for the dashboard harness. The 6 pins carry: power+, power-, throttle signal, brake signal, lighting control, and speed signal. Model-specific wiring variations are handled on the controller end — the dashboard connector is identical across all models.
After standardization, in-stock harness varieties dropped by 80%. Production line changeovers no longer require dashboard harness swaps — only the controller harness needs changing. The solution has been deployed across 5 main models.
