M8 connectors for treadmill display panels from a Xiamen fitness equipment maker, first batch 5,000 units.
A Xiamen fitness equipment manufacturer makes treadmills and ellipticals for home use. Their treadmill display console connects to heart rate sensors, speed sensors, incline motors, and the control board. Originally all signal wires were soldered directly to the console PCB — over 30 solder points per unit, with frequent cold solder joints causing functional failures.
We designed M8 4-pin and 6-pin connector solutions that consolidated heart rate, speed, incline, and power signals into two connectors. The console uses PCB-mount connectors while the frame harness comes pre-terminated. Assembly is now plug-and-play.
After the first 5,000 units, console-related failure rates dropped by 80%. Assembly line workers reported much easier installation. Follow-up orders for ellipticals and other models followed quickly.
