Security camera uses M8 3-pin waterproof connectors
A Shenzhen security camera manufacturer produces outdoor surveillance cameras widely used in residential communities, factories, and parking lots. Originally the power and signal cables exited separately — each required on-site waterproofing using tape-wrapped connections. Over time the tape degraded, water ingress caused short circuits, and after-sales repairs were frequent.
We designed an M8 3-pin integrated waterproof connector solution, combining power and signal into one cable and one connector. IP67 rated with factory-sealed waterproofing, no additional field waterproofing needed. The metal housing resists corrosion in outdoor environments.
After the trial, water-damage-related after-sales repairs dropped by 70%. Installation efficiency improved — previously 15 minutes per camera for wiring both power and signal; now 5 minutes for a single plug-and-connect operation. Monthly volume has been steady at over 3,000 units.
