Smart curtain motor uses M8 4-pin connectors
A Zhuhai smart home company specializes in motorized curtain systems — motors, tracks, and controllers. Each curtain motor needs connections for power, communication, and limit sensors. Originally three loose wires exited the motor housing, requiring on-site connection by electricians — time-consuming and error-prone. A wrong connection would burn the motor control board, causing costly after-sales losses.
We designed an M8 4-pin unified connector interface for the curtain motor, consolidating power (2 pins), communication (1 pin), and limit signal (1 pin) into one connector. Motors ship with an M8 receptacle pre-installed, and the matching cable comes pre-terminated with an M8 plug — simply plug and tighten.
Electrician installation time dropped by 60%, and control board burn-outs from wrong wiring were completely eliminated. All curtain motor models now use the M8 standard interface, with annual consumption exceeding 50,000 units.
