Smart lock maker customizes M6 4-pin micro connectors
A Wenzhou smart lock manufacturer produces about 300,000 smart door locks per year. Internal space inside a smart lock is extremely limited — the fingerprint module, Bluetooth module, motor driver, and battery must all be interconnected in a tiny volume. They originally used FPC flex cables, which were easily damaged after a few mating cycles and prone to reverse insertion.
We recommended M6 4-pin micro connectors with a 6mm outer diameter — ideal for the confined space inside a smart lock. Keyed design prevents reversed insertion. The metal locking structure is far more robust than FPC cables. The compact size does not affect the lock's industrial design.
The customer was very satisfied after testing — the M6 connector delivers over 1,000 mating cycles, far exceeding other micro connectors on the market. Now fully adopted in new smart lock models, with domestic lock brands also giving positive feedback. Annual consumption exceeds 100,000 units.
