Soldering machine uses custom M12 PEEK for 260 degree C
A Shenzhen soldering equipment manufacturer produces automatic soldering machines for PCB assembly in electronics manufacturing. The soldering iron heating core operates at 260°C, requiring a high-temperature-resistant, well-insulated connector between the heating element and power supply. They originally used ceramic terminal blocks — fragile and inconvenient to install.
We developed a custom high-temperature connector based on the M12 shell with a PEEK (Polyether Ether Ketone) insulator. PEEK withstands temperatures exceeding 260°C, maintains insulation resistance above 1,000 MΩ, and offers high mechanical strength without brittleness. The standard M12 threaded locking shell provides reliable installation.
After a year of field use, the customer confirmed stable performance at 260°C with zero insulation degradation. While the custom solution costs more than ceramic terminals, the gains in installation efficiency and reliability made it worthwhile. Now used across the company's main soldering machine models.
