Strapping machine maker converted solenoids to M12
A Zhejiang packaging machinery manufacturer produces automatic strapping machines for logistics, food factories, and printing plants. The machines' pneumatic control system uses multiple solenoid valves, each requiring a 24V power connection. Originally wired directly to terminal blocks in the control cabinet, the problem was vibration — especially during the strapping cycle — which loosened terminal screws, causing solenoid dropouts and requiring frequent inspection and re-tightening.
We recommended M12 A-coded 3-pin connectors to replace the terminal block wiring. Each solenoid valve gets an M12 molded cable, while the control cabinet uses an M12 receptacle panel. The threaded locking design shrugs off vibration. Solenoid replacement is also easier — unplug the old one, plug in the new one.
After retrofitting 50 machines for testing, zero loose connection issues occurred over 3 months. The weekly inspection routine was completely eliminated. All new machines now ship with M12 interfaces as standard.
