Rail parts factory supplies M12 for high-speed rail seats
A Qingdao rail vehicle parts supplier manufactures seat systems for high-speed trains, including electric adjustments (recline angle, fore-aft slide) and entertainment system interfaces. These seats must pass stringent EN 50155 rail transit standards — vibration and shock, wide-temperature operation, and fire retardancy. The connectors originally used showed intermittent contact during vibration testing.
We recommended M12 A-coded 5-pin connectors for seat control and power transmission. The vibration-resistant threaded locking design passed EN 50155 vibration and shock tests. Wide-temperature rating covers -40~+85°C operation. Flame retardancy complies with DIN 5510. Contact resistance stabilized below 5 mΩ.
After passing the full qualification suite, the customer adopted M12 connectors in two high-speed rail seat projects. While rail transit certification cycles are long and the entry barrier is high, once qualified, the supply relationship is stable and margins are attractive.
