M8 connectors for smart leak detection in water purifiers, 20,000+ units delivered.
A Cixi-based water purifier manufacturer produces about 150,000 home units per year. Their new smart purifier includes a leak detection module that automatically shuts the inlet valve and triggers an alarm. The module needed three signal interfaces — leak probe, solenoid valve control, and power. Initially wired with loose soldered connections, both production efficiency and yield were unsatisfactory.
We designed an M8 4-pin connector solution handling power, signal, and valve control in one connector. Installation is now plug-and-play with 70% fewer soldering steps. Modules can be tested individually offline — defects are swapped at the module level instead of requiring full-unit rework.
The customer was very satisfied. Cumulative deliveries have exceeded 20,000 units with a steady monthly volume of around 1,500. New product lines have adopted the same interface design.
